Please tell me your success stories, for health reasons I have to give up smoking and I'm ready but nervous of failing.

I smoked about 20 a day from my teens until
I was 25.
I got sick of being controlled by cigarettes, that thinking really helped me actually.
I used an e-cig for 2 weeks to get over the initial hardship then stopped using that too.
For the first couple of days I literally took it hour by hour and told myself if I can do 9 hours overnight then I can do another 1, and if I can do that 1 I can do another.
It was one of the hardest things I've ever done but I was very proud of myself. Totally worth it.
Withdrawal symptoms I was not expecting; mouth ulcers, indigestion, diarrhoea, headaches, a feeling of depression and loneliness for the first 2 weeks.
You will feel like you need something to do in place of smoking to distract you. Good time to clean out cupboards, any other projects you haven't had time for.
You can do it.

And don't forget, if you fall off the wagon you haven't failed you can just jump back on again. Don't let any small 'failures' ruin your whole plan.
