motherheroic · 30/05/2019 08:45

Those crisps that looked like little pasta tubes, but with closed ends.

vampirethriller · 30/05/2019 10:43

Scampi niknaks are still available but they taste of slightly fishy cardboard now. No good at all.

HammerToFall · 30/05/2019 11:01

Brannigan beer buts and the mini pickled onion hula hoops that were super strong. Oh and salt b vinegar crunchy fries in the rectangle packet

anitagreen · 30/05/2019 11:15

Yes, they did, little packs of 6 (or 9??). I can picture them. My godmother used to send them to me at Easter.

Fudgecakes · 31/05/2019 07:08

Cleopatra soap! Gorgeous smelling, luxurious creamy bar of soap around in about the late 80s. Came in deep purple and gold packaging...oozed decadence!!

lastqueenofscotland · 31/05/2019 07:10

Dream bars
Twix used to do a weird flat biscuit? That was ace.

FuchsiaG · 31/05/2019 10:18

Marble bars, Spiras, Astros, Vice Versas, Cherry Garcia and Oh My Apple Pie Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Radox used to do a beautiful Sunflower scented shower gel that I'd love to use again. It reminds me of moving away to university as my mum packed some in a hamper for me :)

Charlie Sunshine perfume. I loved this as a teen but haven't seen it for years (can only find Charlie Silver, Blue and Red)

Ellabella989 · 31/05/2019 10:20

You can get vice versas again and they aren’t as nice as they used to be. They must have changed the recipe as they used to be amazing back in the day

tinkering · 31/05/2019 10:31

If anyone’s mourning Ben and Jerry’s Baked Alaska icecream - do not!
They’re bringing it back and I swear I heard murmurings about them bringing back Cherry Garcia too. Smile

Remembered another one - Werthers chocolate! No one else I know remembers them. They were chocolates shaped like with the Werthers flavour drizzled through and they were sooooo nice, melted in the mouth into chocolatey Werthers goodness. They only sell the hard Werthers with the chocolate inside (like chocolate eclairs) but they’re not the same!

FuchsiaG · 31/05/2019 10:31

Oh and Metz alcopops! There was a really creepy advert with something called the Judderman

StrongleBerry · 31/05/2019 10:32

Fudgecakes. You can buy Cleopatra soap on EBay. No idea if it's the same recipe but it looks like what you describe.

Fruit poppets. The mixed ones - they were my fav when I was wee.

Also loved these choc bars called "Mr Big". Only ever saw them at the ice cream van but never elsewhere. They were amazing.

McChicken Korma Naan from the 90's...and their old Iced Mocha.

DesignforLife · 31/05/2019 15:31

I've just remembered, M&S used to do an amazing meal of chicken and avocado in a parmesan cream sauce. I think you microwaved the chicken and sauce and then the avocado came separately in the box to b used as garnish. I lived off this for a while in the late 90s (had a student job in M&S and it was frequently in the cafe vending machine for lunch). I remember trying to recreate it myself using a mixture of creme fraiche and grated parmesan - complete disaster!

AlyssasBackRolls · 31/05/2019 17:13

...ohh, thinking about sandwiches! There used to be a three bean wrap from Tescos I think? That was great. And Spar did a cheese and pickle sandwich on white bread that's suddenly started tasting wrong, I think the bread changed from floofy white to something spongier. Libby's Tomato Juice in the glass bottle was bloody delicious too - it's comparatively rare these days and doesn't taste the same out of a carton!

AdaColeman · 31/05/2019 18:05

M&S used to to a fab crispy duck, hoi-sin, & cucumber wrap packed with tasty duck, which was a real treat.

It was discontinued, then a pale imitation with meagre filling appeared for a while, but it was so disappointing I only bought it once.
Why tamper with something that is a success, the original version used to sell out everyday?

floraloctopus · 31/05/2019 18:27

I tried one once, it wasn't great. Most people clearly don't like it as it's the only wrap that is left at the end of the day in our local M&S small shop.

Fudgecakes · 31/05/2019 18:39

OMG Strongleberry.....you have made my day 😊.....looks like the exact same soap. I'm going to buy some, run a bath, put on my Soul II Soul CD and transport myself back to 1989 ....and I shall smell gorgeous once more. Thanks x

TeaAddict235 · 31/05/2019 21:44

Impulse body spray in O2- the blue can

Moments by Cadbury's- hexagonal caramel filled chocolates with a hazelnut in the centre.

Conditioner from Netto- a white bottle with blue writing and a stripe across it. It smelled like heaven in a bottle and made my hair so happy, and my purse at 79p.

PentreBachCymraeg · 31/05/2019 21:51

Hedgehog flavoured crisps.
Dewberry from Bodyshop.
