Posted a thread of what were treats growing up to you, and it was a really nice thread, got me thinking what foods now can't you buy that you used to love? Here are some of mine..
Milky Bar Chews
Those plastic drinks with the funny lid you twisted of,
Panda pops
Frufoo yogurts

One called Cabanno that had coconut and cherries in

Stravapalava · 27/05/2019 23:54

Five Alive juice
French set yoghurts - think they came from Sainsburys or Safeways in a pack of 4 - the lemon ones were my favourites.

margotsdevil · 27/05/2019 23:55

Birds Eye Potato Fritters
Body Shop Ananya
And a frozen ready meal which was rice, chicken and vegetables with blocks of curry sauce that defrosted as you stir fried it - it ended up almost as a curry risotto. Was amazing but can't remember the name or brand

EskiVodkaCranberry · 28/05/2019 00:03

You can get five alive in Morrisons but it's not the same
We used to be allowed one glass each week while we watched gladiators Confused

noodledoodler · 28/05/2019 00:04

Nik naks, might they be the crisps like crunchy wotsits? I remember fruitangs and the fileasd figg things too. Could manage a cabana bar or a texan bar or two.....,,, we should start a campaign mumsnet

LindsayDentonsCat · 28/05/2019 00:22

Fry's Five
Scampi Nik Naks
Waitrose Peanut Butter Pretzel Sticks

StinkyWizleteets · 28/05/2019 00:23

Real sugar irn bru
Orange squash without sweetners
I can’t stand the sweetners aftertaste and some give me horrible migraines.
Bring back E numbers and artificial colours too!

pintoffginplz · 28/05/2019 00:23

Vesta beef risotto was absolutely devastated when they stopped making them.

Heinz baked bean pizza

Tesco used to do hazelnut cookies
Omg they were lush

Teddy1970 · 28/05/2019 00:32

Limara body spray, Romantic Fantasy was my favourite.
Birds hot chocolate pudding with a crunchy topping (you only had to add hot water to the chocolate powder and then add the crunchy topping) it was bliss, and so quick!
Frys five centres, they still make the other two mint ones but five centres had different colours and flavours.

INeedToGetHealthy · 28/05/2019 00:54

@SheSnapsThenSheFarts I was going to put Quatro too. My Dad used to say it looked like cat piss.

I miss the body shop coconut hair gel that they sold around 1987

DippyAvocado · 28/05/2019 00:57

Milk chews, like fruitellas but milky - so nice, found them in my local corner store as a one off then gone!

They sell these in my corner shop!

I miss Heinz Toast Toppers. It looked like cat sick but tasted strangely delicious.

augustusglupe · 28/05/2019 00:57

Sara Lee pecan & cinnamon pie/bake from freezer section.
Ambrosia chocolate rice pudding, in the tin, it was lovely and thick, not the horrible thin one they sell now in tubs.
Marks and Spencer Manchester tart from the chilled section... the only one I’ve EVER tried that tasted exactly like the school dinner one from the 70s.
Also the M & S Custard slices that are still there but bear no resemblance to the ones of yesteryear.. lovely rich creme patisserie has now been replaced by airy cheap custardy stuff!!
Ditto Cadbury’s dairy milk, now tastes like very cheap chocolate.
Strawberry Sweatheart...1970s
Pink Panther chocolate bar

ellabella84 · 28/05/2019 01:05

Thornton’s Eden chocolates in the black and pink boxes.
Cadbury snowflake.
Cadbury top deck.

happymummy12345 · 28/05/2019 01:16

You can still get dream topping? Assuming you mean birds? I love it.

Retreatbynameretreatbynature · 28/05/2019 01:24

Dream Topping from the 70s as the current one doesn’t taste the same. Peach Angel Delight=gorgeous!! Mint cracknell chocolate bar. Sausage and tomato flavour crisps. Toast Toppers Chicken and Mushroom flavour. M& S Manchester Tart just like home made. Chocolate milkshake from M & S in individual cartons which I had as a treat with a prawn mayo sandwich circa 1989. Real raspberry flavour Raspberry ice cream as the flavour now tastes so insipid. Mmmmm I’m hungry now!!

Retreatbynameretreatbynature · 28/05/2019 01:25

Forgot to add Cadbury’s chocolate before it was ruined!!😢

tinyradish · 28/05/2019 01:29

Does anyone else remember 3D doritos??

Retreatbynameretreatbynature · 28/05/2019 01:52

Just thought of some more! Banana ice cream which is delicious but have never found it sold anywhere since a holiday in the new forest.
Lemon polos were lovely, peach flavour chewing gum, banjo chocolate bar. I can also, just about, remember a Winnie The Pooh can of honey flavoured dessert which would have been in the 70s and it was gorgeous. I’ve tried googling it but had no success. Can also remember chocolate coated balls of ice cream in both orange and mint flavours, my mum would buy a box from the off licence as a special treat on a Saturday night....happy memories.

Retreatbynameretreatbynature · 28/05/2019 01:58

Just seen that, for those mentioning Body Shop Ananya perfume, it’s available on Body Shop (Malta) website. I wonder why they don’t distribute it to other countries?

SheSnapsThenSheFarts · 28/05/2019 06:33

@INeedToGetHealthy if your cat pee was a sort of cloudy yet luminous green sort of colour. God knows what was in it. Perhaps it's best we never knew!

cricketmum84 · 28/05/2019 06:42

@Cherylshaw those mud pie corners were my all time favourite when I was younger!! Omg they were gorgeous!
