Staying off the cigs...

I Just had a baby and he’s 13 weeks old now, but I’m finding it really hard to stay quit from roll-up cigarettes, managed to quit as soon as I found out I was pregnant and have quit twice previously for my last two pregnancies but this time I really wanted to stay off the fags but I just can’t seem to do it! In this last week I’ve slipped back into my old ways and now smoking again.
Anyone who’s managed to stay off cigs how did you do it? It’s mainly when I get stressed (3 kids under 4) that I smoke or started craving when things got difficult. I hate being a smoker and I’m worried about my health but the addiction is so hard. If I just smoke 4 a day is this still terrible for my health, I feel like I can’t go through life without them.
Thanks for anyone who has any tips on staying quit when no longer pregnant.

where are you from OP? i would have a look for your local stop smoking group and go along. You are much more likely to quit if you have support from people who are going through the same thing as you. If you feel the need to have a cig, phone 0800 022 4 332 (the NHS stop smoking helpline) and they will help you to resist. Your local stop smoking group can also supply you with a nicotine patch, which may help?

With vaping how often do you have to buy cartridges? Do they sell them in petrol stations etc ?

Yes, you need to replace pods/liquid. Can be bought on the petrol station but way cheaper to buy online! For a cheap and easy vape, look at a uwell caliburn. Then buy liquids you like from onepoundeliquid.com to start. Good luck!

Recommended here on MN but I listened to (or read) Allen Carr’s (not the comedian) Easy Way to stop smoking and haven’t had a cigarette for 149 days 18 hours and 55 minutes according to the app on my phone.

I had stopped smoking for about a month before I became pregnant, never craved them when pregnant and then when my ds was about 3 months old, I started again. I smoked again on and off for about a year. Then I'm not sure exactly what happened but I had a bit of an epiphany and realised I didn't want my ds getting comfort from me when I stank I of smoke. So I stopped. I'm a firm believer in keeping on quitting, try every method and all support available and eventually, if you really want to, you will quit. Everyone quits for their own reasons. Good luck, @Findingthisdifficult1234 Thanks
