Wedding present for Groom help

So I get married in just over a week. Had saved £3k separately to buy my future DH a watch but he couldn’t find one he really liked to warrant spending that much money on it. He told me to leave the watch and he’ll get a nice one another time.

I was just thinking of getting something small like personalised cuff links but I’ve just found out he is getting me a £500 pair of diamond earrings.

I have no idea what to buy him for a similar sort of value. Please help me with ideas?

Does he wear a three piece? Pocket-watches are coming back in these days and you could get a gorgeous one for 500.

He is wearing a 3 piece to the wedding so that’s an idea. I’m not sure if it’s really him though, he’s a very plain kind of guy lol

Ah right. Pocket watch and wedding ring is the only 'jewellery' my DH will wear :D

How about something related to his favourite hobby instead? A wedding gift doesn't have to be jewellery or an accessory.

I got my DH a lovely wallet from Aspinal of London. Maybe something like that or a fancy leather wash bag?

How about a really good pair of sunglasses?

A weekend away for you both somewhere he would really like to go. Or tickets and overnight stay to a band or hobby event?
I know it's not sentimental or something to 'keep' but my OH would much prefer this type of thing.

Designer cuff links and belt to wear on the day?

AuntieStella · 27/05/2019 12:56

Even if he doesn't want a posh watch, is he sporty? Because one of the more expensive Garmins might be a good choice. The sort that people secretly covet, but can't quite justify upgrading to.

I bought my DH an engraved pocket watch

Faybaline · 27/05/2019 12:57

What about a tie pin

TrumpetTrouser · 27/05/2019 19:26

I think I might have it... a Mont Blanc pen.

Any thoughts?

I always wanted a mont blanc with a leather notebook.
Or a 6 month anniversary weekend away?

BlackcurrantJamontoast · 27/05/2019 19:37

Honestly? Is this a thing? Don't buy something just for the sake of it. My Dh has a few mont blanc pens- classic city leaving gift- but he doesn't like or use them really as they are too thin.

TrumpetTrouser · 27/05/2019 22:03

Yeah I understand what you’re saying, that’s why we didn’t get the watch. It was a lot of money for the sake of spending it, he didn’t really want a specific watch. My future DH has spoke about getting a pen a few times actually, so I’m confident he’ll like it and it’ll get used. I’m just not sure which one to get.
