Where can I buy shoes for a toddler with tiny feet?

Dd has been walking for a few weeks and I really need to get her some shoes for when we are outside as at the moment she is just toddling around in her socks which isn't very comfortable/safe when there are stones on the ground etc. I do realise barefoot is best but this just isn't always practical.

Problem is that she is just too small for clarks shoes as they start at a size 2. I believe mothercare and start rite start at a size 2 as well. Is there anywhere we can buy smaller shoes that we can get fitted properly?

I had to wait until mine was a startrite size, so about 6 weeks after she started walking. It wasn't easy!!

Hush Puppies used to do a size 2, that's what we had to buy for DD. We used a local independent shoe shop.

I just got some of those soft baby shoes that are sometimes called pram shoes in the same circumstances; I felt they protected the babies feet a bit better than just socks. They did wear our quickly so we went through a few pairs.

What size do you think she is? Smaller than a 2 would be tiny!

I use a local independent shoe shop who will fit the right shoe rather than measure and offer lots in that size. They can also order in different brand which fit differently.

Clark’s don’t fit my DS as his feet are too deep so the Velcro doesn’t fasten over his feet. He wears Bobux usually which are perfect for his shape foot.

We just used soft shoes, dd had (still had) tiny feet

Dd was a 1 as I remember Startrite saying they had nothing small enough. We just had to hang in with prom shoes or slipper socks till she grew. She's 13 now and still got little feet compared to her friends!

Pram not prom😂

Ds stayed in his little Daisy Roots soft shoes for ages (I can't remember the other brands).

Have a look for baby moccasins, Sainsbury's used to sell them but I'm sure lots of other places do. It means they've at least got leather under their feet

Mine has been toddling in pram shoes to start with and have just ordered her some first walkers now. I let her go barefoot quite a bit even on hard ground.

My DD started walking before shoes would fit too. You can get socks with leathery bottoms which helped but other than that it was mainly only letting her walk inside.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like we have a few more weeks before we can get her proper shoes.
