I need recommendations for restaurant/ bars in London: friend's 50th

Hi all,

I have a mate coming from overseas in about 4 weeks. She wants a big night out in the city and it's her 50th birthday. She wants to go for a meal (she likes steak), preferably in a pub with live rock music! (Not metal, just the usual stuff.)

I don't go out in London much and have no idea where to take her! I don't know any pubs with live rock music, let alone one that serves food too.

So does anyone know of any good steak restaurants that are not outrageously expensive, and any pubs in central London with Rock Music?

The Half Moon in Putney

Goodman’s do amazing steak - we went to Canary Wharf but they also have Mayfair and City restaurants. Really good meat, they bring it out so you can see what you’re ordering and talk you through the different cuts. Sides are also lush. It’s not cheap, but it is v good.

I agree the Half Moon in Putney is a great spot but I live on the Kent borders so it would be a 3 to 4-hour round trip.

Does anyone know of a similar venue in central London?

Thanks Raging - I will have a look at Goodman's - helpful too that they have restaurants in the city.
