Budget duvet suggestions - I'm being cheap

I need a budget double duvet for our camper van - I hate cheap hollowfibre versions which are stiff and let air in, but equally I can't justify spending big bucks on something just for our van trips.

Has anyone found a fair quality synthetic one which has a little bit of soft drape, i.e isn't too scratchy and rigid? I've had no luck finding microfibre filling, every search gives me the same old hollowfibre filling with just a microfibre cover. So maybe it'll have to be wiry poky hollowfibre after all.

7.5 to 10.5 tog should be plenty. I've been poring over t'internet hoping to pay max £20

Thanks!

We’ve been impressed with Wilkinson 13,5 tog ones for a tenner
I think they might be slumberdown

I bought a 13.5 tog Silentnight double duvet and 2 pillows from an eBay seller (shop) a few months ago for £16.99 inc. postage. They're only for the spare room, but are good quality and I would recommend them. Worth having a look.

Oh ok great, thanks - maybe I'm casting aspersions on cheap hollowfibre unfairly, based on the last time we used one (20 years ago).

Will check those out, thank you! I just want it to drape round me you know, not stick out at the edges...

i go to asda theirs are soft and hard wearing and hollowfibre and different levels of cost the ones around £20 for a double are very good for the price are machine washable cant stand feather and down ones as they rustle

You could just take the duvet off your own bed if you always camp together, ie you don't need it at home at the same time?

Or do you have a winter one that you only use in winter, and you probably won't be camping in winter anyway.

Our spare is a John Lewis microfibre, cost about £20 kingsize.

I’ve had a good one from primark before. Can’t remember how much it was but it wouldn’t have been expensive!

I got our last one from matalan I think. Also look in argos

dementedpixie · 26/05/2019 18:30

That's not inexpensive!

Our campervan duvet was from Dunelm.
If you visit the store rather than order online, they have samples so you can have a feel

Thank you for all the suggestions!
