If you're new in an area how would you find a childminder?

I'm just wondering how you would find a childminder if you didn't personally know anyone in the area?

Is there anything specific to look for?

Look on the council website or childcare.co.uk.

I am a cm.

Go on local county council website , you will get a list of them. Phone round and visit. I am a great believer in gut feelings.

I went on the council website. Then did visits to every one that had vacancies and I liked the sound of. Ended up with an absolutely lovely childminder that we were sorry to leave when we moved away.

I am currently looking for a childminder. I have joined a local Facebook group for childcare and posted on there. I am also looking on childcare.co.uk, which is how I found my previous childminder.
