Can anyone recommend really good shampoo bars that aren't from lush please?
I just think lush has disappeared up its own arse these days and I can't bing myself to shop there.
Sorry for tha arsiness, I've been rwsing online reviews for what feels like ten hours now

Friendly Soap

Changingweather · 25/05/2019 21:33

Following, because I like my lush bar but would rather buy elsewhere. I don't get on with the very "wholesome" bars as they leave my hair feeling like a sticky haystack.

Hoping someone can recommend something good...

Try Ethical Superstore

Friendly soap bars are great. You just have to remember to do a vinegar rinse after washing exile your hair adjusts.

I like soapnuts shampoo bars. I do live in a fairly soft water area though, I don't know I that makes a difference. They didn't work as well when I went on holiday to a very hard water area.

I use Ethique which are available through Amazon in the US. They ship to the UK, but not sure what the cost is. Highly recommend- no sticky hair!

Try Sarandipity soap co. All natural stuff that is amazing

NeverPutAWetFootInABirkenstock · 25/05/2019 22:04

Beauty Kubes are great. No weird rinsing regime required.

Look for soulful soaps if you're on Facebook

Megnrob · 27/05/2019 11:54

I felt the same about Lush but failed miserably with other shampoo bars as I live in a really hard water area so everything left my hair gunky and awful. Discovered Yorkshire Soap Company do shampoo bars which are cheaper and better than Lush in everyway. I'm lucky to have a shop nearby but they do online orders too

foxyfemke · 27/05/2019 11:56

A friend of mine runs Posh Brats. They make amazing stuff, all made in their workshop in Cheshire. The shampoo bars are great!

MuddledUpAgain · 27/05/2019 12:00

I second Yorkshire soap shampoo bars. Really lovely to use.

DinosApple · 27/05/2019 12:15

The Solid Bar company.

It's a proper workout washing hair as it doesn't lather up like ordinary shampoo, or the soap bars from Lush. It takes longer to wash but I love it, smells great, no plastic and no palm oil and vegan. They also do a great conditioning/shaving bar.

I'm easily pleased though as I don't use lots of products, my hair is bobbed, fine, uncoloured and straight.

"I just think lush has disappeared up its own arse these days and I can't bing myself to shop there."

Just to say amen! Me neither anymore.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 27/05/2019 12:41

Me too - not that I ever did shop there, I was put off by everything I heard about the hard sells. I’d much rather support a small business.

LikeARedBalloon · 27/05/2019 12:49

Was just about to order from the Yorkshire soap company but £6.95 shipping!! Nope!!

Likethebattle · 27/05/2019 12:54

Used to love lush but it’s awful now. Fucking jazz hand weirdos accosting you when you just want to sniff some soap....go away! Also the price!!!

marko2002 · 27/05/2019 15:05

I use amicasoap.co.uk and in particular their Aloe Vera or Avocado shampoo bars which have built in conditioner, won't use anything else again!!

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 27/05/2019 15:12

www.rockways-online.co.uk does a great range. I love them! It took a couple of washes for my hair to get used to it, but I don't use conditioner with them and my hair feels really soft. I could never have used ordinary shampoo without conditioner!

AugustRose · 27/05/2019 15:17

I'm glad I'm not the only one who no longer shops at Lush, the prices are ridiculous now, with so many other options. We have been using the Friendly Soap shampoo bar and it's OK, it can leave your hair feeling like it needs a rinse but I'm soo lazy. Since DH has been using it his itchy scalp has eased so that's a plus.

Kanga83 · 27/05/2019 18:11

Following as also wondering, I prefer BUAV and a vegan one. Will follow up some of the suggestions
