Anyone else (permanently) lost their appetite since becoming a mum?

My baby isn't much of a baby now, is only two, but I since becoming a mum I've really lost my appetite, just consuming bare minimum (usually high fat calorie stuff) and seem to have permanently lost 5kg from my pre birth weight.

But when on the few times I've been away from him on work trips, I then eat everything on the hotel menu. Grin

I'm still breastfeeding if that affects anything.

Yes I definitely understand that.

I have told myself after the bank holiday I must go back to eating meals and nit just eating cake and buscuits. I used to eat very healthily as I enjoy veg and fruit and I could have a chocolate bar in the fridge few weeks just having a little square at a time.

Roll on to now, DS is nearly 2 and I just eat chocolate, cake, biscuits and ice cream. It's like I'm possessed by a sugar monster 😫😫. It's not effected my weight but not sure about other health implications

Yes, I can identify with that! I went through a phase of only wanting to eat crackers (Jacobs) with butter as I really didn't have the appetite for anything else. At the time DS was 1, then it progressed to bread and butter until dinner time. I was just not hungry. But I could munch away on Astro belts/ fizzy fangs/ bubble gums and plenty of water throughout the day. It's improved now, as i actually prepare 'nice' things to eat such as poached eggs or fried eggs with bread and butter, or salad with ham and / or cheese. I have noticed that I have a far greater and better appetite when the DC/ DH are with me. So maybe try eating with company ?

I ended up about 5kg lighter after DS1 and the same after DS2 (the same 5kg, I;m not 10kg lighter in total!). DS2 is almost 7 and I still weigh less than I ever did pre children. I think it was not having time to eat loads & breastfeeding when they were tiny, but I eat plenty now and have never put it back on. I don't ever get absolutely starving like I used to though and if I'm busy can miss a meal without really noticing. I used to love food so much I looked forward to every mealtime, now I like nice food but it's not the same somehow (maybe it's having to cook for everyone all the time that took the fun out of it?)
