This was posted on Facebook for Ralph Lauren clearance and I personally wouldn’t have shared it in case fake as it looks too good to be real? How can I tell? I tried google and nothing showed up and it just looks weird somehow . i’d happily revamp DHs wardrobe if it is genuine!
Polobk.com

Thanks if anyone does know

Sorry I wasn’t clear what website I was talking about , it’s called polobk.com and there were others listed too for other brands

If in doubt, don't. But nobody's going to visit a potentially (likely) dodgy link to check for you OP. Googling the name brings up nothing, I doubt it's legit.

I've just had a look. I wouldn't risk it. Click on the shipping and returns tab and the English used is quite poor.

BuildingQuote · 25/05/2019 18:12

Ok thanks I will not risk it. And yes I did wonder if I should type in the link at all.

Posted too soon... also look at the items and click on the reviews. Nothing comes up.

Thanks corndog. I feel happier leaving it now as had really quite wanted the shirts on it!! I would normally be more wary and guess I relaxed a bit when a friend shared it

If it's on Facebook use page transparency button to see how long the company has been on fb. How many followers? What kind of engagement? Check the real company's fb page for warnings of counterfeit sites. There's been hundreds of radley and Russell and Bromley ones. Look if the English is bad too. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

If you were setting up a legit company, would you call yourself polobk? Is there a UK address you can check on, telephone number? Where is the stuff shipped from? Of all the retailers Ralf Lauren could sell through (and they will be concerned with protecting brand), are they likely to choose this one? Those are the type of questions to ask. FB is full of Chinese companies these days, selling direct from China with no protective purchaser rights for you.

Amber0685 · 25/05/2019 18:31

Does it have any comments under the fb post. I would be wary.

FiremanKing · 25/05/2019 19:02

The domain was registered by a Chinese company Xinnet, so yes it’s fake crap!

FiremanKing · 25/05/2019 19:07

I’ve just looked on the actual website polobk.com and it’s glaringly obviousness it’s fake.

Op, if the price is very much lower than expected then it will never be genuine.

BuildingQuote · 25/05/2019 19:13

Thank you all- that is a satisfyingly definite answer!

You can always check a website by putting the domain name into one of the many Who is websites.

BuildingQuote · 25/05/2019 19:32

Thank you so much
