Big toenail

I know I will come across as a bit thick at the age of 38 but my toe nail is coming off. It's hanging on strongly at the base but all gross underneath. It keeps catching too.

Can Chiropodists remove this and what was the cost?

Did it hurt?

I am scared I will catch it on something and it will rip and then be really painful.

Get to the chiropodist! I pay £35 for an appointment. If you needed surgery £100

Thanks thats not too bad.

I am not home until tomorrow. So I may have to strap it down until Tuesday. I forgot about the bank holiday. 😫

I’d soak it this evening in warm water with salt in and then carefully pat dry and leave any dressing off over night to allow air to it.

Get as much air to it as possible when you’re sitting down as strapping it down and confining it inside a sock or enclosed footwear will create moisture and cause the infection to be trapped or worsen.

Watching with interest as my big toe nail has come off. This was after surgery a couple years ago to remove part of an ingrowing toe nail, so I am not hopeful that it will grow back. It doesn't hurt but it is fugly. Is it possible to have a false nail or a tattoo or do I just need to suck it up? Just been to the Far East and had to remove shoes for visiting temples, so it was a bit embarrassing!

I didn't make the doctor in the end but it eventually worked its way off.

Hope it grows back.

It looks just like mine! Shock

Mine came off in the bath. It grew back though.
