Hi all,

I’m just wandering if anyone here has suffered migraines in pregnancy I had them before pregnancy but never bad enough to be off work because I took Zolmitriptan 2.5mg melts... I am now 27 weeks and have been told by my consultant Obstetrician I can take them!... he confirmed it with a neurologist.

Anyone out there who has a similar situation please let me know your outcome ?

Taking migraine dugs and having healthy babies/fairly good births 💁‍♀️

Thank you !! Xxx

I suffered from migraines in my last pregnancy and was told there was no medication I could take. Your situation might be different though because you were on meds before? I can't help but you have my sympathy- it's miserable.

I had sumatriptan and ibruprofen in the second trimester and also had to go onto amitriptyline from around 15 weeks with both pregnancies due to the migraines. I had to stop the amitriptyline at 28 weeks but apart from the odd one or two, I didn't have anymore migraines. I saw various GPs and a specialist consultant.

If you have been told your medication is safe it will be - doctors are incredibly cautious with pregnant women and for good reason. I also found lots of helpful and reassuring information in medical research papers online.
