Please can anyone help me with DDs cough?

My 6 MO DD seems to have developed a cough over the last 24 hours. She had a cold a few weeks ago which she got over in a few days but she has sounded a bit nasely ever since. It’s never bothered her and she’s totally fine in herself and was sleeping fine. We had a awful night last night as she just kept coughing herself awake. I think she’s teething too which isn’t helping. She’s been fine all day today in herself, happy and playing etc and not coughing much at all really although was a bit difficult to get her down for naps.

She’s been in bed a hour and has already woken herself up once coughing sad I think we might be in for another rough night. Is there anything I can give her or anything I can do to help her cough? Please help!

Talk to your gp or hv in the morning if you are worried.

In the meantime: could it be post nasal drip? Try elevating her head slightly (in a safe way, so no pillows etc in bed, but by wedging something under the two front two cot legs)

Try some Calpol - it doesn't cure the cough as such but with ds it allowed him to sleep through the cough and not be disturbed by it.
