So I am taking my kids down to London this weekend. Both under five. If I purchase a first class ticket can they sit with me or is there some kind of special rule for first class. Traveling lner.

Do you mean are kids allowed in first class?

It's just like standard class but roomier and more comfortable, so no additional rules. Just try and reserve a table so you can sit together.

Children under 5 usually travel free on trains but if you want them to have guaranteed seats, especially seats next to you, then you'll probably have to buy them tickets.

They need a reservation even if their ticket is free otherwise you will need to sit them on your lap.

The train is going to be pretty empty so not worry ed about getting seats but I just wondered whether the under fives free thing only applied to standard class.
