Having a sideways garden....thoughts?

Looking at a house that’s mostly side and front garden. It’s got high hedges at the front and very private south facing. Garden to the side is a triangle and west facing.

Hedge at the back will grow up to provide some privacy from the v quiet pavement and road at the back.

Back yard with room for a table is north east facing and v private.

We currently have a side garden on what is a double plot, this is the norm where I live.
It works fine.

We're on a corner so have 2 side gardens. The one on the busy road we don't use. The one on the quiet lane is fine. Both with high hedges.

You say your road is quiet so that will be fine.

If the front one is sunny that's where you will want to sit, just think are you sure you're happy if you were sitting there relaxing with a glass of wine and the postie/courier/jehovahs witness came to your front door.

Also how does using the front garden fit in with the house layout. Does the kitchen overlook it so you can watch kids playing. How far to carry some drinks out. If you have young kids playing out there, what happens if a visitor leaves the front gate open.
