Ideas for holiday destinations abroad - no flights?

Hi
I'm looking for recommendations for a holiday abroad with two preschoolers and DH. I'm pregnant and don't want to fly. I'd rather not stay in the UK as I want a higher guarantee of sunshine! Can anyone recommend a cruise, somewhere near a Eurostar etc? We can go before schools break up. Thanks

I've done a p&o cruise from Southampton before and would recommend it.

Southampton would be a good option, I have always fancied the Canaries cruise with P&O.

We are travelling on the train on Sunday from London to Paris, then another train to Barcelona. You can picks up lots of cruises from there, but a long winded journey with little ones.

Alternatively (depending on where you are in the UK), you can hop on the Eurostar across the channel and pick any major city within easy distance of Paris. I have also gone to Germany from Rotherham's port and across France overnight (by car, from Dover). There are a few options, depending on your travel time.

Eurostar straight to south of France for sunshine- maybe you will be able to get cheap tickets as not school hols! Good luck!

Would you consider driving at your destination? We once took the
Eurostar to Avignon in June and had a hire car then for two weeks.

Or take the car and a ferry to northern Spain or French Atlanticcoast?

You could take the Eurostar to Brussels and change trains to Germany but you won’t have guaranteed sunshine, some areas are better than others but nothing is 100% secure.

Thanks. I've never done a cruise - would there be much stuff for the little ones to do? Do you have to dress up for dinner? Any recommendations for accommodation in the south of France?
