I'm looking for some inspiration before I start the search, please let me see your wedding rings!

This is mine! My engagement ring made it hard to find any wedding ring I liked because I loved it so much, I had always wanted a princess cut diamond but thought I wanted a plain wedding ring until I saw this one. We got married this year so it's still new and exciting!
They're both platinum, so won't need re-plating. I didn't want to ever be without them so this was a deciding factor Grin

White gold with diamonds, plain band looked wrong with my engagement ring. Both need replating though ☹️

Won't put mine on here would out me. Diamond and blue topaz engagement ring and had wedding ring hand made. It has 3 large diamonds and throughout the band small diamonds and blue topaz.

I love the ones with some diamonds in but also feel like I would be gutted if I had to take it off, but worried about stones falling out if I didn't. I'm careful to take my engagement ring off in bed, shower, washing up etc but worry about a plain band being a bit masculine. The very thin plain bands would suit my small hands though.

I think this thread is making my decision much tougher...

mary you could look for an engraved one. You get the decoration but without the stones. There are some lovely ones.

adviceatthislatestage · 26/05/2019 15:10

Here's mine - from a small jewellers in Chichester. We hadn't planned to, as was just visiting the area but knew it was the right one for me. I chose the design and they made it up for me.

For some reason, I still get people asking/commenting about my engagement ring.

Love them both

@MaryBoBary I've only worn my ring for about 2 years but it's never come off and no stones are loose, it's a half eternity channel set and it looks pretty sturdy to me.

redwoodmazza · 26/05/2019 16:12

My wedding ring is plain gold. I purposely chose an engagement ring with wide shoulders so that it would fit together with wedding band neatly. Eternity ring made by same jeweller and fits between them.
Ironic posting this as we are having 'issues' after 29 years of marriage...

”I love the ones with some diamonds in but also feel like I would be gutted if I had to take it off, but worried about stones falling out if I didn't.”

There’s really no reason to worry about stones falling out. I wear both my wedding ring and engagement ring all the time and am not worried at all. I only take them off to put sun cream on the kids really, otherwise they’re both on all the time.

CharminglyGawky · 26/05/2019 16:29

I love mine, the engagement ring was my great grandmother's and I just wanted a plain wedding band to go with it... then I fell in love with that one Grin

I don't take them off either, I'm way more likely to lose them if I take them off and the stones are all small so if we have to replace one it is better than losing the whole ring! I do take them off for food related stuff like rolling meatballs or kneading bread though!

”I do take them off for food related stuff like rolling meatballs or kneading bread though!”

Yes I probably would too if I ever did anything like that! [inadequate domestic goddess skills]

I love mine too.

@Likethebattle I love your rings, very unusual and really cool 😊

CouldBeOuting · 26/05/2019 19:49

My original ring was a plain 9ct gold band with our initials and date of wedding engraved inside. Edges were sharp and sometimes cut my finger if I knocked the ring.

When I lost a stone out of my 30 year old engagement ring I got a new one and had the gold from the original, plus my wedding band made into a new ring set with the remaining small diamonds from my original engagement ring. So it’s not a ‘new’ ring, it’s still the old ring which was blessed at our wedding but combined with my engagement ring.

Ivegotthree · 26/05/2019 20:03

Haven't RTFT but agree with PPs - mine is plain gold and I, too, don't really like non-simple wedding rings. I think engagement rings are for diamonds etc.

EvilHerbivore · 26/05/2019 20:21

@EleanorAbernathy what's the ring next to the ring you posted? Is it opal?

hiyahen · 26/05/2019 20:24

My ring is platinum with baguette and brilliant diamonds. I let my husband away with not buying me an engagement ring on the condition that the wedding ring would contain diamonds Grin I like just wearing one ring.

Plain wide gold band, DH had similar. Only took it off shortly after wedding for a few days as I had terrible itchy excema/dermatitis underneath it. Put it back on once it cleared up and never had it off since, nearly 50 years.

MaryBoBary · 26/05/2019 21:39

I think I worry because we don't have the biggest budget, and it worries me that it won't be very good quality. Can afford to spend about £200. The cost is irrelevant but I want it to last a lifetime and have 0 experience of choosing jewellery. I would hate to have to replace it at anytime.

Redwood - I'm sorry you're having problems, hope you resolve them.

Tartanted - that is really lovely!

@hiyahen

Beautiful ring. I think one ring is a good choice. I often just wear my wedding band but my engagement ring was by far the most expensive.
