Silly question about wax melts

I'm trying to cut back some money for summer holidays. I have a scenstsy burner that I love and I like the wax melts too. Quick question...can you put normal wax melts in a scentsy burner? I've read that they're programmed to a lower temperature and their wax melts are made different...which I'm sure is a marketing ploy but I just want to make sure before I buy cheaper wax melts to save a bit of cash. I love my burner so wouldn't want to waste it.

Thanks.

It's probably a marketing ploy. If they don't work well you can always just scrape the cheap ones out again.

You can often get decent, branded wax melts in shops like the Range, B&M and Home Bargains. Alternatively, it's possible to make your own if you fancy getting crafty.

I use any old wax melts in our Scentsy burner because I find their too strong. It works just fine, never had an issue with melting, scent cast, duration or getting them out.
