Moises in the house!

Hi everyone,

I need some advice as I have no clue what to do here and wanted to know if there's anything the council could do?

I'm currently in a homeless unit and I just woke up with a mouse on me and crawling up and down the bed and I've just noticed rodent droppings everywhere and rubbish bag ripped open with rubbish everywhere!

Wouldn't be so scared but I have a newborn who's crib is the same height as my bed and I'm so scared the rodents will get to her or have gotten to her, is there anything the council can do? Can they place me somewhere else? I really don't want to stay here with my baby especially after waking up with one on my stomach. I feel so sick. I'm just worried about my baby's health and safety here.

Thanks for readingSad

Mice?

Report it. Is there a manager onsite?

There's no manage o snore as the homeless unit I'm in is a private one where it's just me and my baby in a flat.

I'm going to the council when the office opens to say I can't stay there, and thinking back now I'm not sure if it was a mouse as it was bigger it might've been a baby rat. I just don't want the council to make me stay there for a while till a permanent house comes up.

I just want some advice as I'm not sure what my rights are in this situation with a newborn, am I entitled to relocate or will they just get people to come and clear the house out? I'm at my mums as I'm to scared for me baby to stay in the flat.
