I think I already know the answer but......DS started vomiting at 1am, diarrhoea started at 3am, both have slowed down but he still isn’t keeping small amounts of water down. We are supposed to be flying at 7am to Crete- me, DH, DS, DD, Grandma .....I’m going to have to cancel aren’t I?

Even if he was to stop right now, he's still contagious for 48hrs so yes. You'd be best speaking to your insurance to see what they say about covering it.

Call the travel agent for advice. The sooner the better. Do you have insurance?

sleepy77 · 23/05/2019 13:59

We have got insurance. Booked flight and hotel ourselves so would be a bit more complicated

Can your DH, DM and DD go as planned and you and DS join them in 48 hours so long as DS is not still vomiting?

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 23/05/2019 14:07

Can you cancel the hotel?

Is moving it along a few days an option?

Sedona123 · 23/05/2019 14:21

Cancelling is probably your best option as it sounds like your DS has norovirus, which is highly contagious. It's likely that you, your DH and DD will also come down with it in the next few days too.

I feel for you op. You must be gutted. But as another poster said, the rest of the family will probably follow and you can't give it to people on the plane

sleepy77 · 23/05/2019 15:16

Totally gutted but not worth the risk, thank you for replying x

You may not all get it.

We've had some horrendous bugs that haven't taken down the whole family but the poorly child absolutely cannot fly and it's judgement call for the rest of you.

The others going ahead may be ab option?
