Some idiot damaged my car.

I went to 3 different places on Tuesday in my car. I only noticed the damage when I came out of the third place as I happened to walk towards the passenger side and saw the dent and scrape on the back wing. I've had it looked at and it's going to cost around £400 to repair. Whoever did it obviously did not leave their details. All I can hope is that their car was similarly damaged. I know in the great scheme of life this is very minor, but I am so annoyed. The car is 3 years old and very well looked after, not some rust bucket.
I suppose I should count myself lucky as a relative had his car written off when parked outside his house (hit by a stolen car and driver ran off, never traced).
No real point to this post, unless you've got similar, or worse, stories. (No point going through the insurance as I will get so little back after the excess has been paid and I will lose my no claims). Aargh, £400 down for no reason!

My car got hit while parked. No idea who did it but it cost 1000 euros to repair!

I get you OP, we park in a council car park, parked in a long central bay down the middle of the car park so no cars either side, PLENTY of space to manoeuvre/drive round the back of said bay, twice in the space of 5 weeks our car was scraped, going through to the metal work, both by a light coloured car onto our black one. The damage was such they would have known it happened and they chose to drive off and not leave details, the council will also not help re CCTV as the police need to request it (logged it after the second incident)
Very annoyed! Thankfully we have body work insurance and they repaired it.
So damned disrespectful, you cause damage own up to it!!!
Sorry your stuck with the cost OP

Don't even tell your insurance company that it has happened and your paying for it yourself as it will be recorded as a loss and will effect you at renewal

This has happened to me. So bloody frustrating. My car has a huge dent in the rear wheel arch with a scratch down to the metalwork, I think from some fuck wit slamming their door open into it, so they will definitely have realised. Then the other day I noticed it's also got a cracked back bumper and lights where someone has obviously backed into it on an angle, I expect trying to get out of their own parking space. It has a tow bar so I hope they got it in such a way that they also managed to do equal damage to their car on my towbar. Wankers. No details left in either case and it's knocked over £1000 off the value of my car now we are trying to part ex it against a new one. I'd been to several different places and only noticed towards the end of the day in both cases, so now make a point of checking my car before I leave anywhere so I can at least try to get CCTV if anything does happen. It makes me so angry, it's utter carelessness and seems ever more prevalent to just drive away and not leave details. I always park well within the lines so there's no excuse.

I watched a man try to forward park in a space a whole ago and absolutely total the side of a car in the soace next door as he drove into it. He just drove away too. Unfortunately for him I got his registration number and left a note on the other car's windscreen, detailing that he'd also driven away.

My car, which I loved very much, was written off outside my house last year. Some arsehole banged into it, scraped all along the side, tore off the entire rear bumper. And drove off. This is on a quiet residential street with plenty of room to get through. I assume he was speeding up the road and texting at the same time. I've got another car now but I don't love it the same way 😢.
