Bit urgent - frozen prawns

Have defrosted some frozen prawns and they smell a bit ... fishy .

They've been in the freezer at minus 20 for less than 6 months, probably more like 3 months.

Do you think they'll be ok to eat?

I eat anything but I wouldn't eat prawns if they smelled wrong.

If they smell fishy then I wouldn't but don't be hasty. Leave them out of the packaging for a little while and sniff again. Sometimes plastic doesn't do meaty stuff any favours.

Give them a quick rinse or two under cold running water and then sniff them again.
Sometimes that will wash off any fishy water and smell if it's just on the surface of the prawns.
