Penalty charge notice - do you think this is unfair?

I've just got a PCN for turning into a road that was apparently no right turn.

I was driving along a main road and wanted to turn right into a side road. This side road was split into two, the first part was for traffic coming out of the road which had a no entry sign on it. The second part was (what I thought) for traffic turning in from the main road. There was a 'no right turn' sign but I thought that was for the first part.

Completely fair. The first entrance was marked no entry so no need for a no right turn sign. As a result the no right turn sign was clearly for people turning right.

There wouldn't be a no right turn sign for the bit with no entry signs. The no entry signs make that pointless. (not to mention it's no left turn too, if you were coming the other way, so would just be wrong)

Also, it looks like in your pic that the no right turn sign was after the no entry bit, so couldn't relate to that anyway?

Ok thank you. I have seen in other places a no right turn sign AND a no entry sign so that's what confused me.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to pay up. I remember exactly when it happened and my thought process. I made the wrong call! B*er!
