Diwali sweets

DS has asked to recreate some sweets that a friend brought to school. We've established that they are little brown squares with peaks and they are crunchy like they have flour in.

Does anybody know what they might be? Looking at various websites shows many things made as balls that I suppose could be shaped.

Sounds a lot like burfi/barfi

I've made them before and it was quite easy.

Ghee, gram flour (chickpea flour), condensed milk, cardamon, pistachio

I've also done them with the following which gives a white sweet
Ghee, condensed milk, milk powder, , cardamon, pistachio

Oh my. I remember these. I bought a whole lot of Indian sweets once. They are very naughty. Thank goodness Southall and Wembley (and Tooting) are not that near to me!!!
