Has anyone else become really moody lately?

Not sure what's going on but I've found myself becoming increasingly moody and irate the past few weeks. I'm finding nearly everyone around me either extremely irritating or boring and dread social situations where I have to go to a bar or just sit and chat because I have nothing to say and don't have the energy to fake enthusiasm.

I used to like all of these people so the problem is clearly with me. Im only in my 20s so don't think it's a menopause thing or anything!

Anyone else also feeling like this?

Yes, I did increasingly so in the weeks/months leading up to my mental breakdown. Are you under a lot of stress?

clarrisakale · 23/05/2019 01:06

Sorry to hear that @RainbowMum11, I hope you are more well now?

I've just finished university so really I should be feeling very stress free, I'm not sure why I'm feeling like I am.

Maybe it's the effect that finishing Uni has had - a massive change in your life? A factor of a time of life shift?
If you continue to feel anxious, or it gets any worse, I would def recommend speaking to your GP.

I'm getting there thank you - there's an awful lot of stuff I had buried & it had to come out, starting to feel a bit more positive though now, thanks to great support from my GP, friends & a good Counsellor.

Yes. I think it's to do with watching news and looking at social media. In years gone by we'd only be exposed to 1 village idiot. Now we have an entire world of them. Your tolerance is bound to decrease.
I have given up my need to feel informed for the sake of my mental health.

Yeah the news, my fb feed is starting to get me down.

Yes I have felt pretty much exactly like that but I'm 53 so was putting mine down to things like the menopause and worrying about my 2 DCs and other crappy stuff I won't go on about.

I wonder if you were stressed whilst doing your course but you had to get on with it and now it's over you are reacting to it as you can have a delayed reaction to stress?

As you are only in your 20s I am wondering why you have no energy, how's your diet and sleep etc? Have you got much stressing you out in your life in general?

Hope you soon feel ok OP.

Yes. When I am under a lot of work stress (like now) it makes me very tetchy. I like routine, planning and deadlines, and I don't like things being sprung on me by bloody solicitors who should have done the job I am paying them to do.

I do think it is stressful finishing something major like university. Everything is very full on, then suddenly you don't have deadlines or goals set by other people and it takes time to readjust. Have you got something else to focus on? Are you job hunting/ off travelling or moving house?
If it continues definitely see the GP.
