@ Cloudpillows, the company who own that building have yet to have full control over it. They purchased last year, but the final phase of the takeover doesn't complete until the end of this month. They're already radically overhauling practice. Whorlton Hall has been re-purposed, and all patients have been found alternative placements. I'm not saying that it will fix everything, but there is some amazing care going on in other buildings owned by the same company. There is another hospital also for ASD and LD, which has great outcomes for patients. The vast majority are there short term as intended, then move on successfully to an alternative placement which it tailored to their needs. The company isn't perfect, (nowhere is), but please don't base your opinions of all of their staff on the outrageous actions of those twisted people featured in the documentary.

@PeapodBurgundy

Heard all this before new company = same as the old. Same problems. the underlying issues don't go way and a PR exercise isn't going to reassure anybody PeapodBurgundy. And honestly "the company isn't perfect" what a defensive statement that is. You obviously have a vested interest in this industry and I have first hand treatment of people who have vested interests in maintaining their way of life/income. Not pretty. And apologies for being naive but for these young people and others that are in these types of setting all over the country, I would like perfect because its not that hard to do.

The BBC are reporting that 10 staff - 7 men and 3 women - have now been arrested.
