Swollen legs & ankles

I have a desk job and have been working long hours, not moving much.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed my legs really swelled up at the end of the day do I went home and lay down with them raised to try to sort it out. Which it did.

Since then I've found that it happens even if sitting for only 1-2 hours.

Is this anything to worry about? I've bought some baby aspirin to see if that makes a difference.

What else can I do? Should I go to my gp?

Thanks for that link, really helpful. Am now wondering about wearing compression socks when I have all day meetings!

I get this too, I hate it Sad. Loads of water, low salt, walking around and wearing compression socks and/or trainers in the office help my swelling reduce.

Have you checked your desk and chair are set up properly? Are your feet flat on the floor or, if not, are you using a foot rest?

There's a free HSE download here:

Also, make sure you get up every hour or so - make a drink, go to the loo, speak to someone, when you're on the phone, etc...

Get your blood pressure checked, my colleague had this and turned out her BP was quite high.
