I'm new to podcasts and to Spotify. I downloaded it to listen to the AIBU out of curiosity and really enjoyed it. I'd like to listen to some more but don't know what I'm looking for. Generally looking for light hearted or funny.
Thank you!

If you like harry potter there's a good one called potterless. Not sure about any other podcasts on there though

I like Sophie Robinson's for interior design chat.

Ed Gamble and James Acaster - Off Menu. Some funnier than others, depending on the guest. The Victoria Coren-Mitchell one had me crying with laughter.

Couple of weeks late, but Shrine of Duty is quite funny (if a bit long). Discussion of Line of Duty episodes.

It's only relevant if you're planning a wedding, Bridechilla is fun Smile

When I'm looking for a podcast on Spotify I type in the name of a comedian etc that I like, as they all seem to have a podcast / appeared on a podcast.

For comedy - No Such Thing as a Fish.
Three or 4 of the researchers from QI but without the smugness.
It does actually make me laugh out loud frequently

Gossip mongers - this is stupid, puerile and disturbing in places but I scream with laughter when I listen.
Horne Section - musical comedy, guests are a mixed bag but generally brilliant
Off Menu - I always end up starving after listening to this one.
Adam Buxton - I only choose episodes with guests I like.
Love Stories - Dolly Alderton, this is my late night pre bed listen, gorgeous and humorous and soothing. Guests talk about their love stories.
Walking the Dog - Emily Dean- funny in places, but I love hearing peoples life stories
Like Minded Friends - Tom Allen Suzi Ruffel - these 2 are so brilliant and these episodes are quite short..

I need more time to listen, i dip in and out of a lot more but these are my go toos!

Criminal with Phoebe Judge (her voice alone is super soothing!). A lot of it isn’t lighthearted but there are also some great stories in there about fascinating people such as the woman who ran the illegal black persons lotto, the black market trade in Venus fly traps, a woman who had to borrow a bra from a stranger to visit a prisoner, the history of giving the finger etc.

These are great, thanks so much

Older and Wider with Jenny Eclair and Judith Holder is my absolute favourite. Maybe targeted at grumpy older women but very funny.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/05/2019 14:16

'Off Menu' is great; some really good guests, too. 'Desert Island Dishes' is similar, but not nearly as funny

'Three Shots of Tequila' is good too, and a bit more varied in topics, but is exclusive to Spotify so you'll HAVE to use that to listen to it!

MrsBosh · 22/05/2019 14:20

Don't know if these are particularly funny, but they are easy to listen to:

Rhiannon Lambert 'Food for thought' (food/diet)
Dr Hazel Wallace 'The Food Medic' (diet/health)
'How to own the room' (the episode interviewing Sabrina Cohen-Hatton was amazing - what a woman!)

IDontDrinkTea · 22/05/2019 14:26

Another vote for Off Menu - it really is brilliant.
There’s a similar podcast about music called Teenage Mixtape. It’s by the comedian Joel Dommett.
Shagged Married Annoyed is really funny, although it’s hard to search for as Spotify wont let you search the word shagged as apparently it’s rude Hmm think it comes up if you either search married annoyed, or if you search the presenter, Rosie Ramsey
If you’re an HP fan, then potterless is brilliant

My favourite murder // and that's why we drink // last podcast on the left // Jenson and holes // criminal with phoebe judge

All true crime type podcasts

ButterMyBiscuit · 22/05/2019 14:31

Just seen you were looking for funny / light - the first two + last on my list are surprisingly light given the subject
