Sorry. Just feeling crap, had d&v bug really wiped me. D&v now stopped but still feel horrific. Literally had to stop and lie down on landing as flight of stairs knackered me. Really short of breath, still feel sick trying to keep up the fluids but it’s tough. Any quick fixes?

Rehydrate sachets?

Corndog · 21/05/2019 18:49

Or those dextrose tablets from the chemist?

flumpybear · 21/05/2019 19:12

Flat coca cola. The full sugar one.

greenelephantscarf · 21/05/2019 19:18

drink whatever you fancy. ideally something with sugar. small sips.
if you can manage have a piece of toast or a banana.
hope you feel better soon.

I've had a horrible D and V bug for 3 days and it's wiped me out. I'm hoping things will get easier. Take care of yourself.

Diluted apple juice works a treat

TheAnswerIsInABookSomewhere · 21/05/2019 20:21

Just want to send lots of sympathy. It’ll be over soon!

MrsMozartMkII · 21/05/2019 20:24

Echo the rehydration stuff and lots of water.

Dora26 · 21/05/2019 20:28

Sip full sugar coca cola - recommended to my Mum 50 years ago by a retired paediatrician in the US - something in the cola nut etract I think, as well as the water and sugar helping to rehydrate. Does NOT need to be flat (yuk!) Be well OP.

Thank you all, I’m really struggling with fluids, just make me feel sick. Ice lollies however seem ok. Also craving salt and vinegar crisps so might try them next. It’s just my legs that are so weird, literally feel like I’ve just run a marathon, properly weak and aching.

greenelephantscarf · 21/05/2019 21:22

ice lollies are great
and crisps give you salts and energy.

Crunchymum · 21/05/2019 21:30

Sounds like the horrific bug we had a few months back.

DD (4) was the worst hit and I let her drink and eat whatever she wanted / fancied she is usually a fab eater

She lived on lukewarm tea and breadsticks for the first few days after she stopped puking. Took her a good 2 weeks to have a normal appetite and have normal energy levels.
