Whwn did you move in together?

Just curious what people experiences are of moving in together?

My husband and I lived together from day 1 pretty much as we met in a hostel for homeless teens.

My next relationship we moved in after 10 months and stayed together 5 years.

My last relationship we were together 2 years but never lived together (my choice).

Just wondered how other people did it.

We spent a lot of time together at each others houses but got our own place together about 9 months in at the ripe old age of 20 and 22.
We knew the life we wanted and are still going strong a decade later!

We met at uni (first day)and moved in together when we finished 3 years later. We lived in a shit hole but have very happy memories! We've been together 21 years now.

After we married! Before then he was in Newcastle and I was in London. We moved abroad straight after the wedding.

Couldn't move in together for 5 years, by which time we were desperate to do so after travelling alternate weekends most of that time, with up to a fortnight together. Nearly 20 years, now.

When I was spending more time at his place than at mine, to the point where paying rent there felt redundant.

Probably about 8 months in.

We decided that we would buy a house together within a couple of weeks (we’d been friends for a couple of years previously). I was 19 and we’d been dating for 11 months the day we moved into our house.

That was 31 years ago and we are still in the same house.

He stayed every night after the first week, and moved in properly after a few weeks. He is still here 21 years later. :)

After 16 months. We lived at opposite ends of the country and I received redundancy from my old job so upped and left to be with him. Been together 3 years with 1 DD.

We moved in together after almost 3 years just a few months before our wedding. Before that we had a LDR living in different countries until one of us could get a visa sorted. We would have lived together sooner if it had been possible but actually I’m sort of glad we didn’t. We’ve had many years together since and it was maybe nice to have that time before life became about sharing housework and bills.

ExH, met at uni in halls as friends, moved into a shared house together in the 2nd year and got together a few weeks later and lived together from then on.

Late-DH, 3.5 years after we first got together he moved in with me.

Current DP, been seeing each other a year and no intention of moving in together atm due to personal circumstances.

DH moved into my flat from Day 1 (we had known each other as friends for 2 months prior tbf) and then a couple months later we found a place to rent together. A year later we bought our first house.

After 6.5years!!
We got engaged after 6 years, moved in together after 6.5 years and married after 7.
