How do I not feel guilty about being off sick?

I had three tonic clonic seizures, each one was 5 minutes long 😥 Overnight in hospital and thought I had one absence seizure too. Off already for 1 week, doc signed me off for another 2 weeks. Plan to see how I feel and if ok may go back after the 2 weeks but ask to work from home. Why do I feel bad?!!

Please focus on resting and what you need, not some company who are far less important than your health. I'm sure anyone would understand, it's not in your control and you're clearly not skiving!!! Get better soon Thanks

Thanks, that’s the sort of thing I need to hear. I’m not hinting for sympathy as i’ve Been epileptic for nearly 20 years so I should be used to it but it’s been bad lately.

I hope you feel better soon.

Not the same but I’ve had to take time off recently for sick kids and I just hate it. Bless tnem, they can’t help it but I feel like my boss just thinks I’m a liability. I feel so anxious the whole time I’m off and the next day when I’m back in at work.

It’s hard not to feel guilty - we all do but try and use it as an opportunity to rest and recover. You’re no good if you rush back and end up off longer second time round

Epilepsy is no easy ride. You need rest and recuperation. Try and get in touch with your neurologist. Your meds might need a tweak.
