Best ‘permanent’ frizz removal / hair relaxer?

Ideally looking for the most permanent frizz removal (can be a salon treatment) or good hair relaxer (which I guess can straighten the hair a bit and potentially help with the frizz? (I’m not African but have very frizzy, curly hair)

My hair looks like Monica’s from Friends in that episode where she went on holiday..!

Please give me suggestions you’ve personally found helpful, how long the effects lasts, side effects.

Not looking for frizz serums etc which stop working in high humitdity or as soon as a drop of water gets into my hair.

Hi @CustardD123 - I can't help at all but I'll be watching the thread with interest as mine is exactly the same! My BF jokes that I've half an Afro under my hair Grin

I’ve just had a keratin straightening treatment done in a salon on my very thick frizzy unruly hair. It cost £150. It is meant to last 3 months. I’m going to wash it tomorrow and report back !

Maybe not what you want to hear, but I embraced the frizz with curly girl method and the frizz has vanished and been replaced with ringlets I never knew existed! I do miss the “swish” of my straightened hair, but it’s much healthier now (and I’m only 2 months in!)

I came to say curly girl method. I used to straighten my hair every day. Embraced my frizzy curls about 5 years ago. Have gone fully curly girl since January. It’s very much trial and error OP, and at times very faffy and frustrating. But... I have had people literally staring at my hair with a slack jaw and telling me my curls are gorgeous on a good day. So I’ll stick with it for now Grin

I get keratin treatments and they’re amazing. They last about 3 months and my hair is so much easier to control. Still curly but less so and no frizz!

I’m not sure if it’s the same for everyone, but for me it even stays straight for the first two or three washes. Then after that it’s just easily manageable curls. And when I straighten it, it takes much less time and is much smoother.
