Hi, sorry to post here, i did post in health the other day but not much response.

Has anyone ever had both of the above and not be cancer?

Im 35 female, i went to the doctor with upper abdominal cramps and frequent stools, feeling sick etc. I've had bouts of this many times and have been told by doctors before it's anxiety.

Blood tests last week showed low iron, stool test came back positive, had another blood test today to check iron again. Being reffered on.

Also been tested a while back for celiac and don't have that.

I have Ulcerative Colitis - and my iron levels were incredibly low.

My positive test was for inflammatory bowel disease - further investigation showed it as UC.

Have they said what you have tested positive for?

flippyflapper · 20/05/2019 21:54

No she just said I had an abnormal sample and she will refer me on.

I'm really worried

Not sure what you mean by stool sample being positive. . . Do you mean raised calprotectin?

Ds1 has had very high calprotectin, bleeding, vomiting/diarrhoea/weight loss. Can't remember about iron but lowish B12. Had every test going and nothing wrong. Is now fine, has put on weight. No idea what it was all about. Possibly allergy related.

I have low iron, my son is coeliac, my blood test for it was negative. We eat gf at home but I've cut all gluten out and for the first time in years my iron levels are stabilising.

It's hard not to worry but could be lots of things.
