Does a blackout blind or curtain exist that actually darkens whole room and lets no light in?

My DP apparently can sleep no more unless he is in pitch black and we can’t seem to find the solution, we are moving soon so will need all new blinds or curtains so wonder if any recommendations?

We have both blackout blinds and blackout curtains. The combination means complete darkness.

What sort of window will you have in the new place?

A friend had plantation shutters and black out curtains. Room was completely dark. Expensive though!

I have lined our curtains with blackout material which helps but still let's light in. During the lighter months I've been known to also put up a gro travel blind. However, in order to fully block out all light you do have to faff around with the velcro quite a bit and it's not really a long term solution.

My DD has blackout curtains which I have lined further with blackout fabric and has a blackout roller blind. It does do a very good job.

Magic blackout blind on Amazon. It sticks to the window with no adhesive. Works extremely well imo.
I bluetac it to the white plastic frames of the window and it lets zero light in (Because I cant be bothered to cut it to size).

We have curtains that are close fitting to the window and we can tuck the bottom into the radiator.

I’ve never seen blinds come close to being properly black out.

We have these in our east-facing room. They really do block 99.9% of the light out.

Easy blackout blinds from Amazon they worked so well we had one in DD's room and then one in our room too. Use Velcro on the windowless and the blind material then sticks to it (don't get the ones made out of plastic as they aren't as good).
