Hi all, I did a 26 mile walk for charity yesterday along a section of coastline. I'm fucking ruined today, I've done 21 miles with minimum ache-age before for that last five miles seems to have just destroyed me.

Does anyone have any tips or hints for dealing with seriously battered leg muscles and frankly quite ruined feet?

I would post pictures of my feet, but no one needs that.

A lukewarm Epsom-salt bath works double duty by drying out blisters and keeping swelling in check. Aloe vera is a natural anti-inflammatory, so it will relieve the redness and swelling that a blister causes.
In the interest of being able to put on shoes (and not wince in pain), bursting a blister can provide big-time relief. But under no circumstances should you pick off the top layer of skin. That'll make it a magnet for germs. Sterilise a sewing needle over an open flame (use a lighter or a match), then gently poke the side of the blister. Then, as carefully as possible, apply light pressure to help drain the fluid until it flattens.
Drink lots of fluids. There’s a link between dehydration and increased muscle soreness.
Do some light stretching.
Ice can help reduce the swelling that sometimes comes along with extreme soreness. However, heat can also minimize tension and pain signals. So if relaxing in a warm bath makes you feel better, do that.

Cake and stay in bed for a week vowing never to do anything so strenuous again, works for me.
