Cradle cap on baby's face

Hi all

My 5 week old has cradle cap on his face and in his ears; he also has baby acne but the cradle cap looks sore. None on his head though! Does anyone have any treatments they've tried and tested? Have been keeping clean with cotton wool and water but seems to be worsening each day at the moment!

Thanks

Have you shown GP or HV? Most newborn skin stuff does just sort itself out with time.

I’ve never heard of cradle cap on face are you sure that’s what it is?

DC had the same issue. We used olive oil to help loosen and treat it, and it did seem to work!

Have you tried the cradle cap detrinox shampoo and the boot almond oil cream?

We used sesame massage oil. And it helped, especially around those wee eyebrows x

I wouldn't put shampoo on his face, please don't follow that advice.

Thanks all; have tried coconut oil and olive oil, will give the other oils a go. HV said just to use water and cotton wool but it seems to come back worse every day!

It might be ezcema-ds's cradle cap basically developed into this on his face then his body as it stopped on his head. There are a few moisturisers for sensitive skin like Aveeno, Child's Farm which could be worth a go, but I would try GP to see if they can prescribe something as if it is eczema you may need to try a few products till you find something that works .

Child's dark sensitive skin shampoo not the normal one

You can get It on amazon, boots and Waitrose

Child's farm not child's dark!
