London Recs for 3 50 something men

My DH has about 3 Weekend city trips away with his best mates each year. They all live far apart so like to meet up this way.

Next month it's London. They've obviously been to London before but this time are wanting some recommendations for interesting places to go in the evening. Last time they went to a comedy club in Glasgow. London has just so much it's hard to know where to start.

They're not massive alcohol drinkers but like a nice bar. They don't want anything sexy or dancey. Although my dh loves music I don't think the other two do. They mainly meet up to catch up.
They already have a hotel near Paddington.

So does anyone have recommendations for any 'interesting/unusual' bars/restaurants or evening venues/comedy nights for three 50 something guys with slightly country bumpkin ways? Grin

There’s a website called The Nudge that do a great summary of all the non-touristy things that are going on in London, plus interesting restaurants and bars.

It’s a bit touristy but I take people to the slide at the Orbital (Orbit? I always forget) in the Olympic Park. Or If it’s their kind of thing you can do the velodrome bike experience thing there which is amazing. I also love getting Boris bikes and cycling from station to station stopping at bars/pubs on the way.

Possibly a bit stereotypical for 50 something men, but the driving range at North Greenwich has some good views. There’s a surprisingly nice bar and restaurant there as well. They could do the Emirates Air Line to get there.

Thanks for the suggestions. Interesting. I'll tell DH do have a look.

I haven't heard of The Nudge. I'll investigate.
