Whats your morning routine?

What is your morning routine and how much time is there before you get out of bed and go to work? I’m looking to try and make my mornings more productive but equally I really struggle getting out of bed. For reference I don’t have kids and I don’t eat breakfast so just need to get myself ready for work at 8 am

6:10 - alarm. Take my medication and either go back to sleep for 20 minutes or play on my phone
6:40 - brush teeth and shower
6:50 - have breakfast (have to wait at least 30 minutes between medication and food)
7:00 - do make up, hair and get dressed
7:30 - make a coffee to go, finish packing my bag and then leave for work

On work days I leave the house before 6.30am. DC are usually still asleep.
0555 alarm goes off
0600 out of bed, wash, teeth, get dressed (clothes etc all sorted out the night before)
0610ish downstairs, feed cats, quick drink, take meds, brush hair, put food and drink in bag, put shoes on
0625 leave house, walk to bus stop, wait for bus, eat breakfast on bus or while walking from bus stop to work
between 0700 and 0710 get to work unnecessarily early because I wouldn't trust the buses to get me there on time if I left later, get changed into work uniform, have drink and sit down before work starts.

Currently I have a very cute 9 month old alarm clock.

Before he was born I used to use a QR code alarm to get up. I was allowed to snooze it twice and then I couldn't turn it off without walking into the bathroom and scanning my toothpaste. Because I was in the bathroom I'd then do a wee and brush my teeth. By the time I have done this, I am awake enough to fight the urge to just go back to bed. If I need to get ready and go I can do. If I don't, I can enjoy a tea/coffee after tooth brushing as it's bitter enough not to get that weird sour taste.

This did admittedly cause a problem when I smashed the screen of the phone and couldn't turn it off or make it do anything, and then the speaker also failed so it just made an incredibly loud dying robot noise repeatedly at 6am, but apart from that it was great.

Wake up to first alarm at 0615. Get up on second alarm at 0630. Shower, wash hair. Dry, dress. Ensure DC are awake and vaguely vertical. Put on makeup, blow-dry hair. Drink glass of lemon water while providing DC with breakfast and seeing them off to bus stop to catch 0730 bus. Leave for work.

It's usually a well-oiled machine 🤞

Alarm goes off at 6.50. Have a fag, play daily game of solitaire (currently on winning streak of 1683 days!). Get up, loo, kettle on, weigh in, dress, make tea. Prep horse feeds while tea stews. Drink tea, smoke, check Guardian for actual news, DM for what Kate wore yesterday.

Feed horses, pigs, dogs, cats and goats. Poo pick horses and garden. Water fruit trees. Breakfast smoothie, more tea and fags around 9am.

I get up at 6. Have 2 cups of tea and read the BBC website until 7.

Go upstairs and get dressed.
Get DC up, sort their breakfasts and get their clothes ready.
I do make DH's breakfast because he's a bugger getting up and I don't mind doing it as he'll only grab a pastry on the way to work otherwise and mess up his blood sugars etc.

Supervise DC getting dressed, hair, teeth etc while DH is having his breakfast downstairs.

Leave house with DC at 8.30 for school run.
DH is on flexi time so he leaves whenever he's ready / feels like it.

Yes DH gets an easy ride in the mornings, but he's not a morning person and I am. He does loads in the evenings when he's more awake and I'm at work or chilling at home.

Alarm set for 6:30 am. Toddler can wake 5:30-7:30 he wakes everyone up. Get him ready, feed cat, gym gear on. Bags packed night before left by door. Coffee to go. Leave by 7:15-7:30 Drop off toddler. Visit gym. Squeeze in workout and getting dressed. Work can start 9-10 depending on day. I love having that time in the morning to myself at gym. Would never go in the evenings and no point hanging round home for an hour, not like I'd get a lie in

Get up at 7. Feed dog. Sit and drink coffee/ have breakfast until 7:50. Get washed, dressed, teeth brushed by 8:10. Take DD to bus stop. 8:20 Walk dog. 8:45 take DS to school then on to work. Luckily DC old enough to make their own breakfast and get dressed so a lot less stressful than when they were younger.
