Swimming pool owners...

Roughly how much does it cost every time the pool maintenance person comes?
I have been offered the use of a pool while the owners are away but the owner said you can just pay for the maintenance.and I am wondering how much that is £100 £1000?

(Also, I know nothing about pools, but don't they have to be maintained regularly so wouldn't the owner be having it down anyway even while away?)
