Tring/Chiltern Hills (or surrounding areas)

I need to book somwhere to stay for our family of four, for a week in August. Somewhere close to Tring, but would consider anywhere within about a 30 min drive. Does anyone have any suggestions, ideally somewhere contemporary, with a garden and self catering ? I feel like I am searching for the impossible! Thank you.
