Dc have to bring water each day and I have found most bottles I buy spil. Any recommendations?

Contigo bottles are the best I've found. Not cheap but they work, and they last.

Nuby ones with a flip down spout

Don't know why I typed spil instead of spill Confused thank you

Camelbak! Expensive but worth it as they last so well.

Ricekrispie22 · 19/05/2019 18:49

Camelback are a reputable brand and their kids water bottle have an inbuilt straw in the lid which flips up when you want to take a drink. You then have to bite it to open the valve and let the liquid come through. It’s actually very easy for young children to get the hang of and can mean no spilling on clothes!
There are so many designs to choose from as well so if you want to have some different ones for each kid there are lots to choose from! The bottle size is 400 ml.

I just use sistema twist and sips. I have not had a problem with the lids but I have have broken bottoms because they have been dropped and a few that have been lost (they mostly find their way back again but it can take a while) so I don’t spend a lot of money on them. Also school bag with space for water bottle on the outside so it can’t leak over work and books.

Kleen kanteen metal ones. Not cheap but don't break at all.

Wilko do an equivalent for far less and so far friends say they have lasted.

TeenTimesTwo · 19/05/2019 19:40

Sistema have always served us well.

Chilledout11 · 19/05/2019 20:40

Thanks so much

Depends on the age. During lower primary (up to Y4 I would say) the majority had some kind of Sistema style bottle. No issue if they fall down, even when the twist is open.

In Y5/6 several came with Chilly style bottles. More problems if they don't look how they drink (DD's friend managed to empty the bottle over her uniform) or if the bottle tips when open.

If you go for a plastic one, I would add some ice cubes. The classrooms are so warm, the water really is not nice to drink after some time.

Nicpem1982 · 19/05/2019 21:34

Another vote for sistema

Millie2013 · 19/05/2019 21:35

Echo Sistema! They’re the only ones we’ve tried that don’t leak

babysharkah · 19/05/2019 21:39

Chilly's. Mine are y3 and had them since y2.

OhMyGiddyAunty · 19/05/2019 21:44

I'm surprised at everyone recommending sistema... I've never had one last more than a couple of months. (Leaking or splitting when dropped).

I gave up on them and shelled out for Aladdin and nalgene ones from amazon and they are both on their second year.
