So this is what summer is like for non-phobic people!

So something amazing has happened to me over the last couple of years. From being terrified of all insects (but particularly buzzy/flying ones) since childhood I appear to have somehow 'got over it'! There was a marked improvement last year but this year (so far) I seem completely unfazed.

Being in the garden is a revelation, there's no hyper-vigilance, no barely contained panic at the sight of something yellow and black 6 feet away, no flapping of arms when something buzzes near my ear, not even a flinch in fact. I can't even express how happy this makes me, summer might actually be enjoyable for me now instead of a hazard filled endurance test. I know that will sound mad to those of you who've never been afraid but it's pretty much a minor miracle for me Smile

I wish I could share the secret of how this happened but I genuinely don't know. I haven't consciously done anything, the fear just seems to have disappeared, just really hope it never comes back!

I get you. Have you recently had a baby? I found all my previous outdoor fears went once I had my first weirdly.

I really hoped it would happen like that for me but DD is 10! Better late than never Grin
