Has anyone ever had their amazon account hacked?

Wednesday morning just gone, my amazon account was hacked. Just my luck that being out I missed the email warning me someone was trying to change the email address.

So I am locked out so cannot access any help from my account. Have googled amazon uk phone number and according to the person I spoke to they would lock the account and contact me within 24 hours. Heard nothing from them so rang again yesterday to be told the same thing. Still heard nothing.

Have stopped cards on account and for two pins would just think blow it and open a new account. BUT someone has got all my information. Luckily they haven't bought anything so thats the only good thing.

Has anyone any idea what else I could try?

No just wait for Amazon to sort it. I would hate to lose my Amazon history.

Yep, my history and it is long. So annoying. I also replied to the email telling me the email address had been changed but have heard absolutely nothing. It's well over 48 hours now let alone the 24 they quoted.

Interestingly, the man at the bank when I cancelled the cards said it can only be an inside job. Who knows!
