Hello, I wonder if I can get some ideas on a problem I have brought upon myself.
Last year I bought a pair of expensive tickets for one ICC World Cup cricket match in Manchester. Due to a family emergency, I cannot use the tickets any longer.
They cannot be sold because they are "hospitality tickets". I didn't read the small print and did not realize that these type of tickets cannot be resold. I called the venue and they told me that they were sorry but nothing they could do, and it is not permitted to sell them on the internet in places like ebay, etc. I was very upset as this was a present for a special birthday, but I accept my mistake and have learned my lesson.
After a little cry, it occurred to me that rather than put the tickets in the rubbish bin, I could give them to a child from the area, interested in cricket, that otherwise would not be able to go an international match. But how can I find such a person? I live in the SE.
Is there a charity that works with disadvantaged children interested in sports that I can contact to donate the tickets? It will be nice treat as I think that food and drink are included in the ticket, as well as watching the game from a nice box. It will make me feel better after the stupid mistake that I made wasting so much money....
Anyway, any advice very much appreciated!
