What comedy makes you laugh out loud?

I need more laughter in my life! I rarely watch tv, but I have Netflix and obviously access to internet and freeview. What do you recommend that will make me laugh?

I don't think I'm too fussy in the way of comedy. Although can't stand things like Mrs Brown's Boys.

Two doors down and Friday night dinner, chuckling to myself just thinking about them. In fact I might go and put one on!

Catastrophe is sometimes very funny. Saw Mrs Browns boys mentioned, I don't find it funny at all!! Is it just me?

The farting thread on MN right now is very funny! 😂

Charley50 · 17/05/2019 23:15

'Would I lie to you' has me actually crying with laughter. Even repeats. (And Lee Mack is looking HOT these days).

David Sedaris on radio 4.

Stand-ups? Maybe go back in time and try Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy or Robin Williams.

Airplane is funny. And Ted.

foodenvy · 17/05/2019 23:15

@Catname two doors down is great, myself and my DH love it. Also, still game is pretty good but not as good as it used to be.

Nicelunch25 · 17/05/2019 23:21

The American version of the office is the funniest thing I've ever seen

HiItsClemFandango · 17/05/2019 23:25

MrsBrownsBoys

NO-ONE CAN THINK THIS IS FUNNY. We surely need some sort of intervention for this right?! It’s so fucking awful.

IWantMyHatBack · 17/05/2019 23:39

Mrs Brown's Boys is the worst thing that's ever been on TV. It's fucking horrible.

MissClareRemembers · 17/05/2019 23:42

For the entire Cabin Pressure series, go to Dimsdale.co.uk

Recently I was crippled watching Cunk on Britain. It was so, so hilarious.

I have box sets/ DVDs of the comedy shows that make me laugh the most and they are:
Spaced
Phoenix Nights
The Day Today
Look Around You (only series 1 though)
Blackadder

findingmyfeet12 · 17/05/2019 23:53

The Office US
The Inbetweeners
Allo Allo
Dads Army
Peep Show
League of Gentlemen
Rising Damp
The Thick of it
Alan Partridge
Nighty Night
Human Remains

My3littlestars · 17/05/2019 23:58

Definitely Taskmaster. Laughed at every episode.

Daniel Sloss on Netflix, really funny stand up

Passtherioja · 17/05/2019 23:59

Friday night dinner-it's amazing!!

Passtherioja · 18/05/2019 00:01

Stand up-try Joe Lycett

TV-depends upon your sense if humour-fleabag and After life are great....but dark!

EugenesAxe · 18/05/2019 00:02

For stand up (who I’ve seen doing stand up) my favourites are Peter Kay, Alan Davies and Bill Bailey.
