Gifts

There are two 'big' gifts I need/want to buy people but I am completely stuck.

My landlord is fantastic and has been really lovely when I struggled to pay my rent and I'd like to buy them a little gift to say thank you but have no idea what. Ideally something under £50 including a card.Any ideas?

I am also putting together a little graduation box for my uni friend but I'm not sure what he'd like. Other than 'nerdy' things. I'm thinking of a pair of geeky pj's, a nice notebook and pen, maybe a dvd or a gift card for HMV, a poster from some anime he likes and a little selection of sweets, drinking chocolate and the like.

Landlord may appreciate very good wine? Always a good thank you from people that are acquaintances not friends.

@hidinginthenightgarden, that could work. I don't know anything about wine or them tbh. I just think it would be nice to show that I appreciate their kindness.

I honestly think your landlord would appreciate a card with a note saying thank you and how much you appreciated their help when you needed it. I wouldn't spend a lot on a gift for them, as it might make them feel uncomfortable (and they want you to spend your £ on rent 😉). I might give them a box of Hotel Chocolat chocolates or similar as a token gift.

@SavageToast, that's a good point. And Hotel Chocolat is always a good bet.

If you go for wine gift then go to shop like Oddbins and they will be happy to recommend something. I’m a landlady and would be very happy at the be true.
Your uni gift sounds perfect.
