Please can someone explain "Mrs Hinch"

I was at a friends house, and her mil was there. Mil asked my friend if she had a certain spray "Mrs Hinch used". I had never heard of her, did a quick google and apparently she gives out loads of cleaning tips via her Instagram account. I've had a snoop but all I can see on her account is lots of pictures of her immaculate house with the odd reference to Zoflora or fabric conditioner. Am I missing something? Where are the actual cleaning tips? I don't really use Instagram so not sure if I am doing something wrong.

The other trick is to get kids to clean up as they go along, they generate most of the mess!
Good luck with it, I’ve had limited success

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2019 18:21

I like her. I watch her Instagram stories like you would watch TV.

I have used a couple of the products she recommended and they were really good and not expensive.

Her house is lovely but it's not my taste, her dog is adorable though.

Strange grey house. Too many chemicals.

I find the cult like following disturbing.

And the term "hinching" hurts my head. It's cleaning ffs, she didn't invent it.

MamaLazarou · 17/05/2019 18:40

Strange grey house. Too many chemicals.

This, precisely!

millythepink · 17/05/2019 21:20

Is she the one with the souless, grey Dunelm house?

divafever99 · 17/05/2019 21:30

Think I perhaps need to look elsewhere to find tips on how to remove weetabix welded to the klitchen floor!Blush.

I don't understand why her house is "strange". Looks perfectly fine to me. Might not be my or your colour palette choice, but that doesn't make it strange, it's a clean and tidy, well cared for house. There is nothing strange about it.Confused

I do wonder if there is some envy creeping into these comments.

Sparklingbrook · 17/05/2019 21:45

Yes, I agree. it's not to my taste but it's a perfectly ok house and she loves it-isn't that what counts?

Bluntness100 · 17/05/2019 21:51

I think so sparklingbrook. It's odd to consider a house "strange" because you don't like the colour palette.

I'd be curious to be pics of the posters who think it's strange homes.

Likethebattle · 18/05/2019 12:31

She’s harmless and if she wants a grey house then let her, if she wants a pink house fair play. Some people don’t seem to understand that it’s got fuck all to do with them what colours, accessories etc she has in her house. She likes it, it’s her house it doesn’t impact anyone else but god forbid you like grey in your home because a few gobshites on here think they are the epitome of taste and what they say goes.

IDontDrinkTea · 18/05/2019 13:15

I’m not sure how she calls them cleaning tips. I’ve watched her. She uses flash bathroom cleaner to clean her bathroom. She uses a duster to collect the dust. She hoovers and mops her floors. Please tell me which part of that you needed to learn from a specialist cleaning influencer because it all appears to be common sense and a case of reading what it says on the bottles for a lot of harsh chemicals Confused

Pasut · 18/05/2019 13:24

Her house is strange to look at, flowers on the stove, wtf Confused

But basically just a marketing account like all the other content creators making bank on Instagram promoting people to buy a load of crap.

Sagradafamiliar · 18/05/2019 13:27

There's nothing to explain. You googled her, looked her up, didn't 'get it', fine.
What the fuck is with all these Mrs Hinch threads this last week or so? I'm cynical.

Bluntness100 · 18/05/2019 14:38

Yeah I'm a bit surprised at the folks slagging her off and clutching at their arse cheeks. Seems way over invested to me. There is plenty of things I'm not particularly fond of or interested in on social media. I've yet to find one, particularly as harmless as Mrs Hinch, that would have me frothing at the mouth.

As said, sadly I suspect envy. She's attractive and successful at what she does, has a house she loves, is pregnant, has a great dog, and a husband she's clearly crazy about, and is close to her parents and family.

Seems to be driving some folks nuts.

MrsWombat · 18/05/2019 17:47

She's not my thing. Cleaning with all those chemicals or her style of home. But she's found her niche and doing well, and brought entertainment to lots of people by the looks of it. Good luck to her!

TessieVanKendre · 18/05/2019 17:59

Cue the onslaught of amazing mums confirming they work long hours, have loads of kids and a clean home - GOOD - you’re the people I actually want advice from. How do you do it??

I have a cleaner 🙈

divafever99 · 18/05/2019 18:56

I had no intention of this being a Mrs Hinch bashing thread, I just thought I was missing something, as like idontliketea said, a lot of what she says is nothing new and just common sense. Maybe it is more use to perhaps younger people who have moved into their first home. I've nothing against the woman, good luck to her.

OP posts:
huggybear · 18/05/2019 19:00

It helps her with her mental health, it helps and entertains millions of people. She's a really kind woman.

SherlockSays · 18/05/2019 19:01

Ah here we go again.

divafever99 · 18/05/2019 19:03

And since starting this thread I've seen a Mrs Hinch inspired cleaning tips page on Facebook. Today a woman posted how to remove felt tip pen from a Sylvanian family rabbit! That is the kind of tip I need in my life!
