Well my girl is turning 13,and i thought it would be the usual roller skating/ swimming party....but no, apparently its a special birthday so she wants a proper party, room hire buffet etc, well im stressed just thinking about this...what do 13 yr olds do? Do i have games,if so what?? Will they be bored with just a disco,my girl says not but im not so sure( im really not good at the party thing!) Has anybody done this and have you any suggestions?? Any advice would be appreciated thanks x

Lol at 13 being a special birthday!

I'd take the lead from your 13yo. She'll know what her peers would expect/enjoy/be embarrassed by!

MummyCool19 · 17/05/2019 12:13

I class 13 as a special birthday 🤷🏻‍♀️

13 is a special birthday. They become teenagers then. That's pretty special.

Go ask a pub who have a disco about hiring it ..
Or beauty party.

Pipandmum · 17/05/2019 14:48

Do the disco and get a karaoke machine. Loadsa fun! It won’t be when she turns 16 as then there’ll be boys and drinking...

Samind · 17/05/2019 14:50

Are there ant reasonable local Hall's? You could do the buffet yourself and music could be done via phone and big speakers?

Are you ok with giving her a big party? My only thought would be having a massive party for 13 and she might want an even bigger one for another milestone birthday.

13 is a big deal to newly declared teens!

twosoups1972 · 17/05/2019 14:54

How many guests? Could you have it at home?

HollowTalk · 17/05/2019 15:01

That sounds very expensive. Have her other friends had that sort of birthday party?

CitadelsofScience · 17/05/2019 15:07

We had our DD's one at home. They were all downstairs doing stuff that we weren't privy too and we were banished to the bedroom and left them to it.
